3 Weeks Old.

Emily is 3 weeks old today. She is doing well and so is the rest of the family, of course Jeymmy and I are a little sleep deprived but such is parenthood. This week I returned to work and my Mom came to help out. So of course Jeymmy and Mom could not resist taking her on her first trip to the mall. I hear she slept thru the whole trip, maybe I will be lucky and she will take after me when it comes to hating the mall. But I doubt it, Jeymmy will have years to work her into a shoe shopping fiend like herself. Thats all for today.

Emily's Second Doctors visit.

Our wonderful Emily now weighs 7lbs 15oz so she is above her birth weight in
less than 2 weeks. That is good if you didn't know it. Her doctor says she is healthy and perfectly pink. We sure do agree. Her feedings have gotten more regular and nights are not as tough as in the beginning. HOPEFULLY :)

Home with Emily

We have been home with our sweet Emily for five days now; she sleeps, she poops, she nurses, and poops some more. Ah, the life of an infant! Meanwhile, Jason and I are pretty tired but hanging in there trying to learn the ropes as new parents with a newborn. I am adjusting to mommyhood and fighting to keep the "baby blues" at bay with little success. We are trying to take one day at a time and enjoy our time at home before Jason heads back to work next week. Jason is awesome and supportive and I feel quite blessed to have him as my hubby. He takes care of everything aound the house and lets me rest as much as possible. Bless his heart!!!

Not that I had any doubts, but he is so good with Emily! I love it! I love to watch them interact and it never fails to make me smile, sometimes even shed a tear or two He sings to her, he dance with her and talks to her all the time. She is quite content when she's in her daddy's arms. We fall in love with her more and more each day and marvel at how beautiful she is. God has blessed our family yet again! We'll be posting some pictures as soon as we download them to our computer.

Almost home!

Well we missed a day or two in a haze of breasts and screaming...and not the XXX kind. We have been spending our time learning to breast feed. Seems simple, nipple to mouth followed by suckling. Boy is it not that simple. The latch can be wrong and that leads to many
types of problems for mother and daughter. But after a lot of varied instruction we may have stumbled on our answers for Emily. We have all gotten a little more sleep in the past 24-36 hours. Jeymmy has been a real trooper and spent most of Tuesday with Emily latched on to her nipples. But success is just around the corner, we hope. Tomorrow we should be released and head home, we are all excited...in fact Emily is screaming as I type this. Oops, she is not excited she needs to be changed. Well that's all for now. Back to the poop.

Emily Marie Pronos has joined us!

Well the day started like the last few. We went to the hospital because Jeymmy had been having harder contractions. We got to San Ramon Regional about 9am and they confirmed Jeymmy would be admitted today. She hit 6 cm but then had a few problems. After a little fetal distress, it was decided that a C-section was going to be necessary. This was a big surprise and quite startling. But after a few minutes to digest this, off Jeymmy went. In only a few minutes, I was brought in and positioned next to Jeymmy. I have great video of Emily Marie joining us, she is perfect and beautiful. My Mom, Jeymmy's Mom, Sister and Brother were there to hear the news. They were almost as excited to see Emily as we were. Gloria skipped and hopped down the hall, I would have done the same, but I was too drained at this point. More later.

Happy Birthday Emily!

Baby Update

So we spent a few hours at the Hospitl last night. Jeymmy had been feeling contractions for most of Thursday, so after a trip to the bathroom she decided to call the doctor. He told us to head in and they would check her out. After a few hours of fairly regular small contractions, she rated them at a '2' to our nurse, they decided we would be better off at home. Here it is, Friday afternoon and her contractions are stronger, but not any more frequent. She has taken a few long, hot showers and we just got back from a nice walk in hopes it kick starts her labor. No luck so far. Oh well, we will happily wait for 'Peanut' to arrive.
False Alarm!

Welcome

Welcome to our first blog entry. We are 39 weeks pregnant with our first baby and our due date is January 9, 2010. We had a doctor appt today and the good news is that Peanut is doing well and weighs about 7.5 lbs. Our doctor gave us the option to be induced by next Tuesday if he or she does not arrive earlier (we chose to not find out the baby's gender). We are very excited and can't wait to meet our baby and learn the gender so we can pick a name! We will keep everyone posted and current with any and all baby news. Thanks for checking out our new family blog!
